Can you give me a brief summary of the admission process?

We encourage family members and loved ones to schedule a tour of the location at a time most convenient for them. A completed application and a deposit are required to place a name on the waiting list. When a vacancy that meets your unit size becomes available, we will start the admission process.

What are the financial options available to potential residents?

We offer affordable housing for seniors. The financial options will be discussed with you, in detail, when you meet with our Admissions Director. Each resident will have their own private studio, studio alcove or one bedroom apartment. They are available in market and low income categories. We are proud to be an Equal Housing Opportunity Provider.

Are there financial options available to veterans and their surviving spouses?

The Veteran Administration's Aid and Attendance Pension is a wonderful program for our veterans and their surviving spouses. The maximum monthly amount for the pension in 2015 is $1,149 per month for a surviving spouse of a veteran, $1,788 per month for a single veteran and $2,123 per month for a veteran with a spouse. The pension for a well veteran with an ill spouse is $1,406. Partial awards are also granted<./p>

What type of Emergency Response System is in place?

Each apartment is equipped with emergency pull cords as are the common areas throughout the building. When the pull cord is activated, the message goes to the pager and the information center. An on-duty professional responds. We also provide security checks during the sleeping hours and have 24 hour professional on-site staff. Access to 911 is also available.

What is the extent of the personal care services provided to residents?

Our professional staff is on duty 24 hours a day to provide assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming and ambulation. Up to 1 1/2 hours of assistance a day is provided based on your personalized service plan. Medication reminders are also available.

What type of social and recreational activities do you have available?

Our full-time Activities Directors, their staff, and volunteers provide a wide range of social, recreational, religious and cultural activities within the assisted living community and outside. Our vans provide outings such as shopping, dining out, baseball games, picnics, foliage tours, theaters and museums. Socializing in our pub is enjoyed by our residents and their guests. Our philosophy of providing a friendly and supportive environment ensures peace of mind to residents and families.

Are housekeeping and laundry services available?

Our inclusive rate includes weekly housekeeping and laundry, including personal laundry. Laundry facilities are available on each floor for those residents who wish to be independent and do their own laundry.

What are your staff requirements?

We have LPNs and RNs on duty supervising the HHA and CNA staff. The regional RN supports and provides care coordination with the RNs and LPNs. We have a social worker available to the residents 24 hours a week.

Are there any opportunities available to volunteer my time at Christopher Heights?

Volunteers are an important and welcome part of our Christopher Heights™ communities. Please contact Christopher Heights for current volunteer opportunities. Please note that for the safety of our residents, all volunteers are required to undergo a criminal background check.

Where are your facilities located?

Christopher Heights operates six facilities which are located in Worcester, Webster, Attleboro, Marlborough, Northampton, and Belchertown, Massachusetts.
